Gold Coast Removalists Who Make Moving Easy

Moving on the Gold Coast can be a little different. One day, we’re helping someone move into a high-rise in Surfers Paradise. The next, we’re navigating a gated community in Hope Island or figuring out the best truck access for a canal-front home in Mermaid Waters.

And while every move has its quirks, there’s one thing you shouldn’t have to worry about: the move itself. At Wecube Removals, we’ve been helping Gold Coast locals move for more than 10 years. We know the buildings, the suburbs and the little details that can make moving day much easier — from lift bookings and body corporate paperwork to loading docks, basement clearances and tricky access.

Whether you’re moving a few streets away or settling into a completely different part of the Coast, our Gold Coast removalists are here to make it simple.

Pricing guide

How Much Do Gold Coast Removalists Cost?

Most local Gold Coast removals are charged by the hour, with the final cost depending on how much you’re moving, the crew and truck required, and access at each property.

Here’s a general pricing guide for our Gold Coast movers.

Crew and truck rates

CrewVehicleHourly rate
2 moversMedium truck$130–$150/hr
3 moversLarge truck$170–$200/hr
4 moversTwo trucks$220–$260/hr

Typical moving costs by home size

Home sizeTypical timeEstimated cost
1-bedroom apartment2–3 hours$300–$500
2–3 bedroom home4–6 hours$600–$1,100
4+ bedroom home7–9 hours$1,300–$2,000

These rates are a guide only. Your actual moving cost will depend on the size of the move, access and any additional requirements.

If you’re moving into or out of a Gold Coast apartment, lift access can also affect the time. Waiting for a shared lift, moving everything from a loading dock or working within a building’s allocated moving window can add time to the job. We’d much rather talk about those details before moving day than surprise you with them afterwards.

Apartments & towers

Moving In or Out of a Gold Coast High-Rise?

High-rise moves are part of everyday life on the Gold Coast — but they need a little more planning than pulling a truck up outside a house. Buildings around Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Southport can have their own rules covering everything from lift access to where the truck can park.

We help you work through those details before moving day so everyone knows what to expect.

  • Book your lift early

If your building has a dedicated service lift, there’s a good chance you’ll need to reserve it. Many building managers in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Southport ask for around one to two weeks’ notice, particularly for popular moving days.

In most cases, the resident needs to make the booking directly with building management. Once you have your time confirmed, let us know and we’ll plan your arrival around that window.

  • Your body corporate may ask for insurance paperwork

It’s common for a body corporate or building manager to ask for proof that your removalist has current public liability insurance before allowing the move to go ahead. If your building requests a certificate of currency, Wecube can supply it for your booking.

That’s one less email for you to chase up when you’re already trying to organise everything else.

  • Loading docks can change the plan

A big truck isn’t always the best truck. Some Gold Coast towers have basement or loading dock height restrictions that prevent larger removal trucks from entering. Others give removalists a specific loading area or limited access window.

We check access before the move and plan the vehicle around the building. If a large truck can’t reach the loading area, we can work out another approach rather than discovering the problem when we arrive.

  • We protect the lift too

Your furniture isn’t the only thing that needs protecting.

Buildings may require padding inside the lift to protect doors and walls during a move, particularly where the body corporate holds residents responsible for accidental damage.

Our Gold Coast removals team can take care of the protection required for the move so your furniture — and the building — is looked after.

  • Check the building’s moving hours

Found the perfect Sunday to move? Check with your building first. Some Gold Coast apartment buildings don’t allow Sunday moves, while others limit removals to particular hours.

Building rules vary, so it’s worth checking the by-laws or speaking with your building manager as soon as you know your preferred moving date. A five-minute conversation early can save a lot of frustration later.

Canals & estates

Moving to a Canal-Front Home or Gated Community?

Not every tricky Gold Coast move involves a lift. Hope Island, Sanctuary Cove, Paradise Point and Mermaid Waters are home to beautiful canal-front properties and gated estates — and they can come with their own access considerations.

  • Gated access and security

Moving into a secure estate may mean registering the removal vehicle or arranging access with security before the day. If that applies to your property, tell us when you book. We can work through the access requirements with you so the team isn’t sitting at the gate while the clock is running.

  • Longer walks from the truck

Canal-front properties can have long driveways, courtyards or layouts that leave the truck further from the front door than you’d expect. That doesn’t stop us moving you. It simply helps us plan the right crew, equipment and timing.

  • Narrow streets and tight access

Some streets around the canals can be surprisingly tight for a large removal truck.

If access looks difficult, let us know. Depending on the property, a smaller vehicle or a different loading approach may make the move quicker and easier.

It’s these little details that make local experience useful.

Smaller jobs welcome

Furniture Removalists Gold Coast

Only need to move a couch? A bed? A few pieces into storage? You don’t need to be moving an entire house to call Wecube. Our furniture removalists on the Gold Coast can help with smaller jobs and individual pieces.

Large and awkward furniture can be harder to move than a room full of boxes, particularly when stairs, lifts or narrow doorways are involved.

We use protective padding and careful handling to get your furniture from A to B safely. If you’re not sure whether your job is “big enough” for a moving company, just ask. We’re happy to quote smaller furniture removals across the Gold Coast too.

Furniture jobs we can help with

  • Couches, beds, tables and wardrobes
  • Secondhand furniture pickups
  • Furniture going into or coming out of storage
  • A few larger items you can’t move yourself
  • Furniture as part of a downsizing move

How we work

A Gold Coast Moving Company That Plans Ahead

A good removalist does more than turn up with a truck. For us, a smooth move starts before moving day. It means asking about the lift, checking whether there’s a loading dock, and knowing if your body corporate needs paperwork. Talking about the awkward sofa before we’re standing in front of it.

Wecube Removals is a moving company that has completed more than 5,000 moves across the Gold Coast over the past decade, including high-rise apartments, family homes, gated communities and smaller furniture moves. Our moves include transit insurance, public liability cover and accidental damage protection as standard.

More importantly, we’re here to answer questions.

If there’s something unusual about your property, tell us. We’d rather work it out together beforehand and make moving day easier for everyone.

Moving something that needs specialist attention? Find out more information for pool table removals on the Gold Coast here. And if the Gold Coast is only the starting point, our international removalists can help with overseas moves too.

FAQs

Gold Coast Removalists FAQs

How much do removalists cost on the Gold Coast?

Most Gold Coast removalists charge by the hour. As a general guide, rates can range from around $130 to $260 per hour depending on the number of movers, truck size and requirements of the job.

A typical two to three-bedroom home may take around four to six hours, although access, stairs, lifts and the amount of furniture being moved can all affect the final time.

Do you move high-rise apartments in Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach?

Yes. High-rise and apartment removals are a regular part of our Gold Coast work.

We can plan around service lift bookings, loading dock requirements, body corporate paperwork and building access so these details are sorted before moving day.

Do I need to book the lift myself?

Usually, yes. Most buildings require the resident to book the service lift directly with the building manager or body corporate.

Once your booking is confirmed, give us the details and we’ll schedule your move around your allocated time.

Can you provide a certificate of currency for my body corporate?

Yes. If your building manager or body corporate requires proof of public liability insurance, Wecube can provide a certificate of currency for your booking. Let us know what your building requires when you organise your move.

Do you move furniture without moving an entire house?

Absolutely. Our furniture removalists on the Gold Coast can move individual items or a small selection of furniture. That might be a couch you’ve bought secondhand, a bedroom suite going into storage or several large pieces that won’t fit in your car.

Can you move into gated communities such as Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island?

Yes. We can help with moves into gated and canal-front communities across the Gold Coast.

Security procedures vary between estates, so it helps to organise vehicle access or registration before moving day.

Can Gold Coast removalists move on Sundays?

Yes, however some Gold Coast apartment buildings restrict removals on Sundays or only permit moves during set hours. Check with your building manager before choosing your moving date.

How far ahead should I book Gold Coast movers?

For a straightforward local move, booking two to four weeks ahead gives you a better choice of dates.

For high-rise apartments or gated communities, earlier is better. Lift bookings, building approvals and access arrangements can take extra time, so organising your removalist four to six weeks ahead can make planning easier.
